SEOUL, March 26 (Yonhap) -- The top executives of South Korea's tech giant Naver Corp. and Sweden's audio streaming company Spotify have discussed ways to expand their content partnership, the companies said Thursday.
Naver Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Choi Soo-yeon met with Spotify co-CEOs Alex Norstrom and Gustav Soderstrom at the Swedish company's headquarters in Stockholm on Wednesday (local time) to review early progress and align on the long-term direction of their partnership in Korea, according to the companies.
The meeting followed a strategic partnership signed in November, under which Naver's paid users gain access to Spotify's extensive content library.
As part of the collaboration, Naver users have been able to log in to Spotify using their Naver ID since last week through a single sign-on (SSO) system.
The two companies agreed to expand cooperation across search, marketing and content, among other areas, in the future.
"This meeting reinforced the strong foundation we are building with Spotify and the long-term potential of our partnership in Korea," Choi said.
