The meeting took place between Kim Hee-sang, South Korea's sherpa, or chief coordinator for the multilateral summit, and Marcin Przydacz, Poland's sherpa and head of the international policy bureau at the Chancellery, the ministry said.
Wednesday's meeting came as Poland has been invited to the G20 forum as a guest country for the first time. This year's G20 summit is due to be held in the U.S. state of Miami from Dec. 14-15.
In the meeting with Przydacz, Kim voiced expectations that Poland will play a constructive role in addressing key G20 agenda items, including trade, economic growth and deregulation, innovation and energy prosperity.
Przydacz said he hopes South Korea and Poland will continue close communication regarding G20 summit preparations based on their bilateral partnership, according to the ministry.
Poland is South Korea's fifth-largest trading partner among the European Union countries. In recent years, the partnership has expanded to the defense industry and infrastructure, among other areas.
