SEOUL, March 15 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Jae Myung on Sunday called on first-term ruling Democratic Party (DP) lawmakers to join him in pushing through his reform agenda over dinner, a DP spokesperson said.
Park Ji-hye, who attended the dinner at Cheong Wa Dae, said the president urged the 34 lawmakers to maintain close cooperation with the presidential office and to engage directly with the people.
Lee also praised the party's efforts, and expressed his hope to build a better society through reform, according to Park.
The dinner ran for 2 1/2 hours starting at 6 p.m.
